On leaving Lisieux in the direction of Caen, the British military cemetery of Saint-Désir is a place of memory and emotion. In total, 598 British soldiers who fell during the Battle of Normandy are resting in this cemetery. Right next to the British cemetery, there is also a German military cemetery of 3,735 soldiers. These two cemeteries are located right next to each other and are linked by an alley called "Alley of Peace".
