Exposition de crèches du monde

Since the project was launched in 2005 at the initiative of our Welcome Service, the cribs have never ceased to amaze our pastoral team, which is responsible for putting them in place. The variety of shapes, colors and materials used is astonishing. This exhibition is completely renewed every year. It is installed in the Saint John Paul II Center in front of the Basilica.

The exhibition, unique in its size, is one of the largest collections of cribs from countries on all continents. The event attracts every year families, school groups, pensioners and pilgrims who choose this cultural journey offered to their eyes by artistically and meticulously displayed Nativity scenes. Through this window of the world, the visitor goes to meet the other by his cultural identity having the impression to discover the customs of a continent, a country, a region, a soil. His astonishment is great in front of the variety of forms, colors and materials used by the artists and craftsmen.

The cribs, whether they are lent by collectors or offered to the Sanctuary, come from over sixty countries.

More than 361 cribs from 70 countries have been presented in previous exhibitions!
