Brame de Zéphyr is a hybrid of contemporary jazz and Mandingo music. The sound of the Kora, an African harp that is both percussive and extremely gentle, brings a singular and surprising spectrum to this unusual quintet. The great complicity between the musicians generates a generous, lively sound in which each can move freely and give free rein to his or her imagination. The music is offered with sincerity, combining precise writing and jubilant improvisation.
Tumultuous moments, anchored in a form of tribal, rhythmic trance, alternate with calm, serene melodic phases.
Far from being a simple collage of two musical styles, the aim is to create an imaginary folklore through which everyone can experience the richness of otherness.
Nicolas Talbot: Double bass
Didier Dufour: Kora
Simon Deslandes: trumpet & flugelhorn
Amina Mezaache: flute
Grégory Salles: technique
