Description
Guided tour: the former Jacobins convent
As part of ‘La Nuit des Églises’, the City of Lisieux is offering a guided tour of the former Jacobins convent, now known as the Espace Saint-Jacques.
To mark the launch of an exhibition dedicated to its history, this tour will offer an insight into the evolution of this heritage site. Severely damaged during the bombings of June 1944, the church was rebuilt and subsequently deconsecrated before becoming a major cultural venue. Now recognised as one of the city’s most popular exhibition venues, the Espace Saint-Jacques retains a rich history, encompassing religious heritage, architectural transformations and cultural regeneration.
The tour will be led by Élisabeth Lachaume, a qualified tour guide.
