Description
3.00 pm: A tour of Saint-Martin’s Church.
The bell tower, with its three eaves, and the west portal date from the 13th century. The church has retained its 17th-century high altar with its beautiful twisted columns. The recently restored stained-glass windows were created by the Mazuet workshop in 1903.
4.30 pm Saint-Pierre Abbey
To round off the season of visits, here is one of the flagship sites of the Pays d’Auge. Saint-Pierre Abbey bears witness to the former power of one of the region’s oldest Benedictine monasteries. Among other treasures, visitors can admire the 13th-century floor and the early 16th-century choir stalls and woodwork in the chancel.
